Elvington Airfield is a non permanent race track, which is used solely for track days. Located in North Yokshire, the airfield is used for track days several times of year, and they utilise the runways and taxi ways to create two different layouts. Elvington Airfield is a former WWII bomber station, which has long since ceased military operation.
The venue is also the location of Top Gears Richard Hammonds crash in the Vampire dragster. The layouts which are used are perfect for track days, they have loads of run off areas meaning you will have to have a mega accident to damage the car or bike! As well as taking your own car, you can also rent supercars. Looking at the layout, it’s very similar to the Norisring in Germany, a couple of long straight with some hairpins and a chicane!
