Istanbul is one of the newer race tracks around, opening in 2005. The circuit is quite unusual in that it runs in an anti clockwise direction, adding a serious challenge the already tricky lap. The track itself is on the Asian side of Istanbul and was created by the German designer Hermann Tilke.
One of the most famous corners in the world is also to be found, the legendary turn 8. The corner has four apexes which provides a real challenge for anyone, no matter what car! Traveling to and from the circuit is quite challenging. The bridge between the two continents can be chaos, and expect delays of up to an hour each way, even without the GP! Bear this in mind when booking a hotel as it can really add onto the journey to and from the track.
