Jerez

Jerez Pit Straight

The Circuito de Jerez (Pronounced Hereth) is located deep in southern Spain, and has been open since 1985. Jerez is not located very close to any large cities meaning it can sometimes be chaos trying to get in and out of the circuit, but the on track action means it is worthwhile! The circuit can hold up to 125,000 spectators, a capacity which does get reached during the annual Moto GP visit!

Formula 1 was held at the circuit until 1991 when it moved to Barcelona however they do use it for a substantial amount of the pre season testing. Possibly the biggest moment in the history is when Michael Schumacher collided with Jaques Villeneuve in the 1997 European grand prix, ultimately meaning the Williams driver won the championship.
